Project Description:

Acid rain has been monitored at Tanbark Flats in the SDEF since 1982. It is one of approximately 200 sites in the "NADP/NTN" (National Atmospheric Deposition Program/ National Trends Network) monitoring program network. Each Tuesday, since 1982, wet (or dry) bucket collections have been processed and sent to the NADP Central Analytical Lab in Champaign, Illinois for analysis. Tanbark Flats is one of very few acid rain collection sites in southern California. Please visit the NADP/NTN website for more information, and for actual acid rain data collected at the Tanbark Flats, SDEF location.
